Helena Rodrigues

Helena Rodrigues is an Assistant Professor at the University of Minho in Portugal, where he is a member of the Urban Computing Lab from Algoritmi Centre. She did her undergraduate studies and received her MSC degree in Computer Science at Universidade do Minho, Portugal. She received her PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Kent, UK, in 1999.
Her current areas of interest are on Software Engineering, Software Architectures for Cloud and Edge Computing and Distributed Software Architectures. She has also some works on Ubiquitous Computing and System Software for Pervasive Computing.
She participated in several research projects in the area of Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing, Smart Cities and Industry 4.0. She has published her research results in several conferences and journals in the field. Participated also in meetings and conferences, namely as a member of the Program Committee, such as the SPD'2012 International Symposium on Pervasive Displays, the International Conference on Indoor Positioning Systems (2012 and 2013) or the Fifth International Conference on Mobile Computing, Applications and Services (MobiCASE 2013). Recently she served as Chair of the Urb-IoT Organizing Committee 2018 and 2019 - 3rd and 4th EAI International Conference on IoT in Urban Space.
Also served as a reviewer for a number of international journals such as Personal and Ubiquitous Computing journal, Location Based Services journal, Journal of Interacting with Computers or the Journal of Pervasive and Mobile Computing. She is supervising PhD and master students and has participated in PhD and master examinations.
